Game Overview

Mega Man 3 is where things really clicked for me in the series. You’ve got the usual setup—Robot Masters gone rogue, Dr. Wily pretending to be good (again), and Mega Man blasting his way through eight stages to clean up the mess. But this time, there’s Rush, your robo-dog buddy who turns into a springboard or jet submarine when you need him. Handy, since some of those jumps are brutal without him.

What makes this one stand out is Proto Man—this mysterious, whistle-humming guy who keeps showing up to challenge you mid-stage. First time he popped up, I panicked because his shield deflects your shots, but once you figure out his pattern, those fights become this weird mix of tense and satisfying. And yeah, the music? Still stuck in my head decades later, especially the Gemini Man stage tune.

It’s classic Mega Man—tight controls, creative weapons from defeated bosses, and that “one more try” pull when a stage kicks your butt. Just don’t trust Wily’s “I’m reformed” act. You know how this ends.
