You're back as Lan, running around the real world while MegaMan fights in cyberspace, but this time there's a wild new twist: halfway through, you have to pick between two terrifying Cybeasts, and your choice changes how you play. I went with Falzar because, well, giant hawk-beast thing.
The combat's still that perfect mix of frantic and tactical—you're dodging attacks on a grid while pulling up your custom folder of battle chips, but now you can suddenly go full beast mode mid-fight. First time I triggered it, I accidentally wiped out three viruses in one swipe and just stared at the screen. And the Cross Soul system? Lets you borrow powers from other Navis, which is cool until you realize your friend's character is stupidly overpowered and you've been sleeping on them this whole time.
It's got that classic Battle Network charm—weird internet humor, secret areas everywhere, and post-game bosses that'll make you question your life choices. The sprite work somehow looks even better than the last few games, especially when everything goes haywire during a Beast Out. If you've got a GBA still kicking around (or an emulator, no judgment), this is the one to end the series on.
