MegaMan X2 is one of those solid Flash-era fan games that actually gets it right. You pick between Mega Man, Zero, or Bass—each handles differently, and Zero’s sword makes some stages way easier than others (trust me, you’ll want him for the spider boss). Four stages to choose from, all remixes of classic X-series levels, but the twist is you’re racing against the clock. No dilly-dallying—if you stop to farm health drops, your score tanks.
The controls feel surprisingly tight for a Flash game, though some jumps still make me sweat. That underwater section with the spikes? Pure evil. It’s got that old-school "throw your controller" difficulty in spots, but nailing a clean run feels amazing. Just don’t expect to keep many points by the end unless you’re a speedrun wizard.
