Game Overview
Shadow of the Ninja throws you into a grim future where New York's under the thumb of Emperor Garuda—and honestly, he's the worst. You pick either Hayate or Kaede (I usually go Kaede, her moves feel a little smoother) and slash your way through five levels of side-scrolling chaos. The usual ninja stuff: jumping between platforms, hanging from ledges, and flipping around like you're showing off.
What keeps it interesting are the weapons—you start with a basic sword, but those floating canisters sometimes spit out throwing stars or this weird hook-on-a-chain thing that absolutely wrecks bosses. And yeah, it's tough (this is an NES game), but having a buddy jump in for co-op makes those screen-filling bullet hell moments way more survivable.
