Shannara came out in 1995 from Legend Entertainment, one of those MS-DOS adventure games that felt right at home in an era of point and click exploration. It was based on Terry Brooks' fantasy novels, and if you were into that kind of world building, it offered a solid, text heavy dive into a setting full of magic and ancient threats.

You control Jak Ohmsford, moving screen by screen through detailed environments, solving inventory puzzles and engaging in dialogue with other characters. The main goal involves stopping the Warlock Lord, which means gathering items, uncovering secrets, and occasionally fighting monsters in a simple combat system. The pacing is deliberate, sometimes slow, and the puzzles can be obscure, but there's a tangible sense of progress as you piece things together. It feels like unraveling a dense, interactive story where your choices nudge the narrative forward.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
