Ah, Shenanigans—one of those MS-DOS games that makes you laugh even when you're getting absolutely wrecked. You play as this little guy (or gal? honestly, it's hard to tell) sprinting through these wild, trap-filled levels, grabbing treasure while everything from rolling boulders to rogue cannonballs tries to flatten you. The first time I played, I thought I had it figured out by level 3... then the floor turned into disappearing tiles and a giant anvil dropped from nowhere.
The art style's got this goofy, exaggerated look—like if a Saturday morning cartoon decided to become a video game. And the controls? Surprisingly tight for something from the DOS era. You'll die a lot, but it never feels unfair—just ridiculous in the best way. My personal record is getting crushed by a giant banana peel. Twice.
If you miss the days when games were more about chaotic fun than cinematic realism, this one's still a blast. Just don't blame me when you start hearing the "level failed" jingle in your sleep.
