Play Shin Megami Tensei Trading Card - Card Summoner (Japan) Online
Build a deck of SMT demons, fuse them mid-battle when things get rough, and pray your Pixie evolves before the enemy’s Jack Frost wipes you out. The pixel art pops, and those demon fusion combos will haunt your strategy sessions.

Game Overview
Shin Megami Tensei Trading Card: Card Summoner is one of those weird little Game Boy Color gems that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s basically Pokémon TCG but with SMT’s signature demons and a darker vibe. You start off pulling together a deck of familiar faces like Pixie and Jack Frost, then quickly realize fusing them into stronger monsters is half the fun (and the only way to survive some battles).
The pixel art’s surprisingly sharp for a GBC game, and the battles actually require some thought—none of that mindless button-mashing. I got stuck for way too long trying to figure out the best combos before realizing sometimes brute force works just fine. No English patch exists, but if you’ve played enough RPGs, the menus aren’t too hard to navigate. Just expect to spend a lot of time in the fusion screen muttering, “Wait, what does this demon turn into?”
It’s definitely niche, but if you’re into retro card games or SMT’s weird monster-collecting lore, this one’s worth digging up. The soundtrack even has those creepy synth tones the series is known for.
