Shining Soul (EU) is one of those GBA action RPGs that feels simple at first, but slowly pulls you in. You pick a class—warrior, archer, mage, and a couple others—then dive into hack-and-slash dungeons with a surprising amount of loot to collect.

The first few runs feel straightforward, just clearing rooms of monsters, but then you notice the little things. Different weapons change your attack patterns, and some gear has hidden stats. I remember finding a sword that looked weak at first glance, but it had a hidden poison effect that wrecked certain bosses.

It's got that classic GBA look—bright colors, chunky sprites—but the dungeons can get repetitive after a while. Still, if you like grinding for gear and experimenting with builds, Shining Soul (EU) has a weirdly satisfying loop. The story isn't deep, but the combat keeps you coming back.
