Play Shounen Ashibe Online
Guide Ashibe through quirky school and neighborhood tasks, dodge distractions, and deal with your mischievous pet seal Gabu in this lighthearted SNES adventure from 1991.

Shounen Ashibe came out for the Super Nintendo in 1991, developed by Takara. It was part of that early wave of SNES games that leaned into quirky Japanese licenses, the kind of thing you'd rent on a whim when the bigger action titles were all checked out. The look and feel are pure early '90s manga adaptation, simple and a little rough around the edges.
You control a young boy named Ashibe, and your main goal is basically to get through various school and neighborhood scenarios without failing too hard. The gameplay is split into short, screen-by-screen tasks, like dodging your teacher's chalk or trying to successfully run an errand for your mom. Your pet seal Gabu is often the source of both help and chaos, interfering with objects or NPCs in unpredictable ways. The difficulty isn't high, but the scenarios are silly and short, making it easy to jump in for a few minutes. It feels like playing through a silly, low-stakes comic strip where the fun is in the mishaps more than any real accomplishment.
