Download Simpsons The Hit Run (E) ROM โ Nintendo GameCube Game
Game Overview
I first played The Simpsons Hit & Run on GameCube in 2003, a game published by Vivendi Universal Games. It came out during that era when licensed games were either surprisingly good or just plain cash grabs, and this one landed somewhere in the middle, with a lot of heart and a ton of missions. It felt like a product of its time, built on the same engine as a game called Mafia, which explains the driving physics, for better or worse.
You control various members of the Simpson family, each with their own vehicle, running missions for characters around Springfield to uncover a weird conspiracy involving cameras and alien wasps. The main objective is to complete these story missions, which usually involve racing against a clock, delivering items, or causing a specific amount of property damage. Signature mechanics include free-roaming the town, switching between characters to access their specific quests, and the constant, frantic car chases with police that escalate quickly if you hit too many things. The pacing is frantic; missions often have tight time limits that lead to a lot of retries, and the driving is deliberately slippery and over-the-top. It feels like being inside a particularly unhinged episode of the show, where anything can and will go wrong at a moment's notice.
