So you're stranded on a desert island—no phone, no wallet, just your wits and whatever coconuts you can bash open. That's The Sims 2: Castaway in a nutshell. The usual Sims needs are still there (hunger, sleep, socializing), but now you're figuring out how to turn vines into rope and palm fronds into a halfway decent roof.
First ten minutes? You'll probably be smacking rocks together to make tools while your Sim complains about being hungry. The island's got this weird mix of survival grit and Sims charm—like, yeah, you're foraging for berries, but you can also teach a parrot to insult your fellow castaways. There are little mysteries scattered around too, like crumbling ruins and shipwrecks that hint at something bigger going on.
It's janky in that early DS way, but there's something weirdly satisfying about watching your scrappy survivor go from eating raw clams to building a whole bamboo village. Just don't expect deep survival mechanics—this is still a Sims game at heart, just with more sunburns.
