Play Sims 2, The (U) Online

You micromanage a tiny disaster-prone human on your DS—pick their terrible job, shove them toward the shower, and watch them burn toast with alarming frequency. The touchscreen controls make rearranging their sad little apartment weirdly satisfying.

Game Overview

Ever wanted to run a tiny, chaotic life from your DS? The Sims 2 on handheld is weirdly addictive—you’ll make your little pixel person, shove them into a career (or let them slack off), and somehow end up stressing over whether they’ve showered today. The controls take a minute to get used to, but once you do, it’s oddly satisfying to tap through their daily disasters. My first Sim got fired for napping too much, which felt weirdly personal.

It’s not as deep as the PC version, but there’s something charming about the stripped-down DS take. You can still flirt, argue, or just decorate ugly little apartments. The touchscreen makes dragging furniture around way less frustrating than you’d expect. Just don’t leave your Sim unsupervised near a stove unless you enjoy virtual fires.
