Play Sirwood Online

You play as a clumsy knight sliding around pixelated forests, stabbing skeletons and talking to villagers who might help you—or just laugh at your rusty sword. The controls feel weird at first, then suddenly make sense right before you die from stepping on a magic tile.

Game Overview

Sirwood is one of those MS-DOS games that somehow sticks with you—maybe it's the goofy knight sprites or the way the music loops just right. You start off in this tiny village with a rusty sword and a vague quest about rescuing someone (probably a princess, but honestly, the details are charmingly fuzzy).

The first thing you'll notice? The controls are janky in that classic early-'90s way—walking feels like sliding on ice, and combat is more about timing than skill. But after a few minutes, it clicks, and suddenly you're poking around forests, poking skeletons with your sword, and trying to figure out which NPCs are actually helpful versus just there to mock you.

It’s got that King’s Quest vibe where you’ll die a lot from silly things (who knew stepping on the wrong tile would summon a flock of angry geese?), but the puzzles are satisfying once you stop overthinking them. And yeah, the graphics are basically colored blocks by today’s standards, but there’s something weirdly cozy about it—like playing inside a medieval-themed Lite-Brite.

If you’ve got a soft spot for games where the manual probably had more personality than the code, Sirwood’s worth a lazy afternoon.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
