Slayers on SNES is one of those weird, charming RPGs that never made it outside Japan—thankfully, there's a fan translation floating around. It's got that classic '90s anime vibe, with sprites that look like they jumped straight out of the manga. You play as Lina Inverse, the famously short-tempered sorceress, and her crew as they bumble through a fantasy world full of dumb jokes and surprisingly tough battles.

The combat's turn-based but with a weird little twist—you pick moves from a menu, but timing matters more than you'd think. I kept getting wrecked by random encounters at first because I treated it like a typical JRPG. Nope. You actually have to pay attention to when enemies are about to strike, or Lina will yell at you (figuratively). The magic system's fun once you get the hang of it, though half the spells have ridiculous names like "Dragon Slave" that make the whole thing feel like a parody.
