Ever played a Smurfs game before? This one’s weird in the best way—you’re basically jumping through a trippy dream world where Gargamel’s nightmares come to life. At first, I thought it’d just be another cutesy platformer, but the levels get surprisingly clever. One minute you’re bouncing on giant mushrooms, the next you’re dodging floating clocks and creepy shadow hands.
You can pick different Smurfs, which actually matters—Smurfette’s floaty jump saved me more times than I’d like to admit. The music’s got that classic Game Boy charm, all bouncy and slightly tinny, and the colors pop way more than you’d expect for a GBC cart. Some of the later puzzles had me stumped for a bit, but in that satisfying "aha!" way, not the frustrating kind.
If you grew up with the cartoon or just like quirky retro platformers, this one’s a fun little time capsule. Just watch out for those nightmare owls—they’re sneakier than they look.
