Game Overview

Snatcher is this wild cyberpunk detective thriller from Hideo Kojima (yep, that Kojima) that feels like Blade Runner meets a gritty 80s anime. You play as Gillian Seed, a JUNKER agent hunting down creepy bio-robots called Snatchers—they kill people and steal their identities, sweating and bleeding like the real thing. Neo Kobe City’s all neon and rain-soaked streets, and half the tension comes from not knowing if the guy at the bar is human or waiting to rip your face off.

Most of the game plays like a visual novel—you’ll poke around crime scenes, interrogate suspects, and sift through weirdly specific dialogue options (asking about someone’s "favorite brand of cigarettes" might actually matter). Then out of nowhere, you’re thrown into these frantic lightgun-style shootouts where missing a single shot can get you killed. The Saturn version’s got this grainy FMV aesthetic that somehow makes the whole thing feel even more paranoid and claustrophobic.

It’s slow, text-heavy, and definitely not for everyone, but the atmosphere’s so thick you could cut it with a knife. Just don’t expect much puzzle-solving—this is all about the story and those "oh crap" moments when a Snatcher finally drops its disguise.
