Snipes came out in 1983 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, published by Microsoft. It was one of those early network games that felt like a glimpse into the future, even if you were just playing on a couple of connected PCs in the same room. At the time, most games were single-player affairs, so the chance to compete directly against someone else on another machine was a novelty.

You control a simple arrow-shaped character made of symbols, moving through maze-like screens filled with obstacles. Your goal is to hunt down and destroy the other player's character before they get you. You can lay traps, which are essentially mines that explode when touched, and you have to navigate carefully because your turning speed is deliberately slow, making quick escapes tricky. The game moves at a deliberate pace, with tension building as you try to outmaneuver your opponent in tight spaces. It feels raw and competitive, a pure test of anticipation and control.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
