I’ll admit, the first time I played it, I got wrecked by a badnik placement I didn’t see coming. But that’s part of the fun—it keeps you on your toes even if you’ve memorized the original game. And Tails? Still as lovably useless (or helpful, if you’re playing co-op) as ever. If you’ve ever wanted to relive that first-time Sonic 2 rush but with a few surprises, this is the closest you’ll get.
