So, Sonic Riders is basically what happens when you take Sonic and friends, slap them on hoverboards, and tell them to go nuts. Dr. Eggman sets up this ridiculous racing tournament—because of course he does—and the prize is a Chaos Emerald, because what else would it be?

You’re not just racing, though. The boards run on air, which sounds weird until you realize you refill it by pulling off tricks mid-race. The faster you go, the more you’re drafting off other racers’ turbulence, which feels oddly satisfying when you’re barely clinging to first place. And yeah, everyone’s got their own special moves—Tails does this weird spin thing, Knuckles just plows through people—so picking your racer actually matters.

The tracks are these over-the-top rollercoaster loops and jumps, and if you’re not careful, you’ll wipe out spectacularly. It’s chaotic, but in that classic Sonic way where you’re grinning the whole time. Just don’t forget to trick off every ramp, or you’ll run out of air at the worst possible moment.
