So, Sonic RPG Episode 5, this one hits different. Knuckles is poisoned, and Sonic’s racing against time to find a cure. No fancy open worlds here, just classic Flash-era RPG vibes with turn-based battles and that weirdly charming pixel art.
You start off in Nights’ Castle (yeah, that Nights), dodging traps and fighting Seelkadoom’s minions. The battles are simple but satisfying, spindashes feel punchy, and there’s something hilarious about watching Sonic flex RPG stats. Half the fun is seeing how they cram platformer characters into a menu-driven combat system.
It’s short, maybe an hour if you don’t get lost, but the dialogue’s got that early-2000s fan-game charm. You can tell whoever made this really loved Sonic and just went for it. Definitely a nostalgia trip if you grew up digging through Flash RPGs.
