Remember those old Flash games that just felt like pure chaos? Sonic Surf is exactly that, Sonic on a wobbly surfboard, dodging rocks while Robotnik zooms ahead like he’s got a jet engine strapped to his hovercraft. The controls are simple (left and right, that’s it), but the waves keep tossing you around like you’re in a washing machine.
You’ll be scraping for rings like crazy because one wrong move sends you face-first into a boulder, and suddenly you’re down to zero lives. The music’s got that classic Sonic energy, though, so even when you wipe out for the tenth time, you’ll mash the restart button without thinking. It’s janky in that nostalgic way where half the fun is laughing at how unfair it feels sometimes.
Honestly, I still don’t know how Robotnik surfs faster than a hedgehog with sneakers, but that’s part of the charm.
