Play Sonic the Fighters (Japan) Online
Pick buffed-up Sonic characters and throw down in this janky '90s arcade fighter—simple controls, weird quirks, and pure chaos, especially with a friend. That spinning floor in Eggman's arena is brutal.

Game Overview
Remember those old arcade cabinets with the giant joysticks? Sonic the Fighters feels like someone took that energy and crammed it into a Sonic skin. You pick from weirdly buff versions of Tails, Knuckles, and of course Sonic himself—then just start punching. The controls are simple (no 20-button combos here), but the fights get surprisingly intense when you figure out each character’s weird little quirks.
It’s janky in that way only ‘90s arcade fighters are—some moves feel overpowered, the camera occasionally freaks out, and Eggman’s arena has this bizarre spinning floor that’ll mess you up. But that’s part of the charm. If you’ve got a friend nearby, it’s perfect for a few chaotic rounds before someone rage-quits. Just don’t expect Street Fighter depth.
Runs decently on MAME if you tweak the settings a bit. The Japanese version has slightly better hit detection, for what it’s worth.
