Game Overview

South Park on the Nintendo 64 came out in 1998, published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was one of those games that felt very much of its time, a straightforward tie-in to the TV show that didn't try to be anything more than that. You got to run around as one of the main kids in a 3D version of their snowy Colorado town, which was a pretty novel idea back then.

You control Stan, Kyle, Kenny, or Cartman, and your main goal is to win a massive snowball fight against the other kids and various enemies, like rabid turkeys and the underpants gnomes. The gameplay involves moving screen by screen through the town, pelting everyone with snowballs you gather from the ground. You also collect Chinpokomon dolls and cow batteries to unlock new areas and progress. The pacing is fast and a bit chaotic, and the controls can be slippery, making some parts frustrating. It feels exactly like stepping into a low-budget, interactive version of the show.
