SpaceKids came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by MicroProse. It was one of those early '90s point-and-click adventures that felt both ambitious and a little rough around the edges, typical for the platform at the time. You play as two moon children, a brother and sister, who have to travel to Earth to find their missing grandfather.
You control both kids, switching between them to solve puzzles and interact with the strange world. The main goal is to explore various Earth locations, from a suburban house to a grocery store, gathering items and talking to odd characters to progress. The gameplay involves a lot of screen-by-screen exploration, inventory-based puzzle solving, and dialogue choices that often lead to humorous misunderstandings, like the kids not knowing what a sandwich is. The pacing is slow, and some puzzles can be obscure, requiring a lot of trial and error. It feels like navigating a charming, slightly broken time capsule of early '90s adventure game design.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
