Sparkster came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed and published by Konami. You play as an armored opossum with a jetpack, tasked with saving the kingdom from an invading army.
You control Sparkster, slashing enemies with your sword and using your rocket boost to dash through the air or along the ground. The goal is to fight through side scrolling stages, defeat bosses, and rescue captured allies. Key mechanics include screen by screen exploration, precise platforming using your limited rocket fuel, and occasionally piloting vehicles like a minecart. The game moves quickly and demands good timing, especially during boss fights or tricky jumps. It feels energetic and responsive once you get the hang of managing your boosts and attacks.
