Spartan X (J) is a classic NES beat 'em up where you punch and kick your way through waves of enemies across five floors. The controls are simple—just left, right, and attack—but the timing feels tight, almost like an early rhythm game in disguise.

You start in a dojo with thugs rushing at you from both sides, and the first few fights are chaotic. Some enemies throw knives, others lunge unpredictably, so you learn fast or die faster. The boss fights are where it gets interesting—each one forces you to figure out their pattern before they overwhelm you.

It’s short, maybe too short if you get good at it, but Spartan X (J) has that old-school arcade feel where every death feels like your fault. The music sticks in your head long after you turn it off.
