You control Rallen, a planetary patrol officer, as you investigate a mysterious threat across various planets. The main goal is to excavate, awaken, and train creatures called Spectrobes to fight in turn-based battles against the hostile Krawl. Key mechanics include using the touch screen and microphone to carefully unearth fossils, then nurturing your Spectrobes by feeding them minerals to trigger evolutions. The pacing is deliberate, with exploration broken into small, interconnected areas, and the combat requires strategic use of type advantages. It feels like a hands-on project, building your team from the ground up through patient effort.
