Separation Anxiety came out on the Super Nintendo in 1995, developed by Software Creations. It was part of that wave of licensed beat 'em ups that felt like a Saturday morning cartoon you could control, a familiar genre for the system that delivered exactly what it promised without a lot of surprises.

You control either Spider-Man or Venom, moving screen by screen to punch and kick through identical thugs and symbiote creatures. The main goal is straightforward: get to the end of the level and defeat the boss. The signature mechanics are the screen clearing web attacks and the way certain enemies split into two smaller, more aggressive versions when hit, forcing you to manage the crowd. It's a repetitive and sometimes cheaply difficult game, but the sheer chaos of the combat, especially with a second player, makes it feel like you're brawling your way through the panels of a messy, action packed comic book.
