Play Spiritual Warfare on GB Online

You roam a pixelated city smacking demons with crosses, chucking Bibles at possessed suits, and praying you remember scripture when an angel pops up to save your skin. Later, you’re sweating through a neon hell-mall dodging fireballs from floating eyeballs.

Game Overview

Spiritual Warfare came out on the Game Boy in 1992 from Wisdom Tree, a company known for making unlicensed games with religious themes. It was a strange sight on a system dominated by Nintendo's own polished adventures, a budget title that tried to blend faith and action in a way no one else was doing at the time.

You control a character tasked with cleansing a modern city of demonic forces. Your main goal is to explore the world screen by screen, defeating enemies by throwing fruit of the spirit or using a slingshot, and eventually collecting the twelve pieces of the armor of God. The pacing is slow and deliberate, with a high difficulty that demands careful movement and resource management. It feels like a sincere, if mechanically clunky, attempt to make a biblical adventure from another dimension.
