SplayMaster was one of those MS-DOS Classic Games releases from 0, a title that appeared without much fanfare from an unknown developer. It fit right into that era of shareware and simple, direct gameplay built for quick sessions on a monochrome or CGA monitor.
You control a small, blocky character who automatically moves forward through a maze-like course filled with flashing, neon obstacles. Your only input is pressing the spacebar to make your character jump, timing each leap to avoid the hazards that scroll relentlessly toward you. The main objective is simply to survive for as long as possible, with the screen gradually accelerating to an almost uncontrollable pace. The difficulty is unforgiving; a single mistimed jump means instant failure and sends you right back to the start. It creates a tense, almost hypnotic rhythm of quick decisions and sharp reflexes. Playing it feels like walking a tightrope where the ground is constantly speeding up beneath your feet.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
