SpongeBob SquarePants - The Movie on GBA is a side-scrolling platformer that feels like playing through an episode of the show. You switch between SpongeBob and Patrick, each with their own moves—SpongeBob can spin attack, while Patrick just sort of flops around, which is funny at first but gets old fast.

The levels are bright and colorful, with that same chaotic energy from the cartoon. You'll jump over jellyfish, ride seahorses, and collect spatulas for some reason. The controls are a little stiff, especially when trying to land precise jumps, but it's not unplayable.

I remember one part where you have to sneak past guards in a trench coat disguise, which was a neat change of pace. But then the game throws in random difficulty spikes, like a boss fight that took way too many tries to figure out. It's fun if you're a fan, but don't expect anything groundbreaking.
