I remember picking up Power Rangers: The Movie for the Sega Genesis back in 1995, developed by Natsume. It was one of those licensed games that came out right alongside the film, a pretty common sight on the platform at the time. You could always count on finding these kinds of tie-ins on store shelves, hoping to catch the wave of a movie's popularity.

You control one of the five Rangers, each with their own special weapon and a shared ability to morph for more powerful attacks. The main goal is to fight through side-scrolling levels, defeating endless Putty Patrollers and larger monsters to finally confront Ivan Ooze. Signature mechanics include switching between Rangers on the fly to use their unique weapons, like the Power Axe or Power Bow, and building up a special meter to unleash a devastating screen-clearing super move. The pacing is fast, almost frantic, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly with cheap enemy placements. It feels like a straightforward, button-mashing brawl that perfectly captures the over-the-top action of the show.
