I remember picking up Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie for the Game Boy back in 1995, a time when licensed games were a real mixed bag. Bandai published it, and it was one of those portable tie-ins you hoped would capture a bit of the show's energy. It was a side-scrolling beat 'em up, which felt right for the Power Rangers, letting you step into the colored spandex of your favorite hero.

You control one of the Rangers, moving screen by screen to punch and kick through endless Putty Patrollers and other minions. The main goal is to fight your way to the end of each stage, defeat the boss, and stop Ivan Ooze. You collect power-ups to restore health, and after building up a meter, you can morph for a short period of increased strength. The pacing is fairly quick, but the enemy patterns and limited moveset can make some sections feel repetitive. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes clunky, trip through a 90s Saturday morning.
