Play Sporting News Power Baseball Online
Control your team in Sporting News Power Baseball, pitch, bat, and field your way to victory on the SNES in this fast-paced baseball game from 1995.
Sporting News Power Baseball came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995, developed by Hudson Soft. It was one of the later baseball games on the system, arriving when the SNES library was already packed with options, but it had its own style that set it apart from the more simulation-focused titles of the era.
You control all nine players on the field, handling pitching, batting, and fielding with straightforward inputs. The main goal is to win games through strong pitching and timely hitting. Signature mechanics include a pitching interface where you aim and select pitch types with a cursor, and a batting system that lets you influence contact and power by holding the button longer. Fielding is mostly automatic, but you can dive or jump for spectacular plays. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty feels fair, with a good balance between challenge and reward. It feels satisfying to connect with a well-timed swing and watch the ball sail over the outfield wall.
