Spud's Adventure came out for the Game Boy in 1991, published by Atlus. It was one of those odd, late-era platformers that felt a bit out of step with the slicker titles arriving around the same time, but it had its own quiet, peculiar appeal.

You control a potato named Spud who must climb a tower, screen by screen, to rescue a princess. You use a bow to shoot strange enemies, push crates to solve simple block puzzles, and dodge environmental hazards like spikes and pits. The pacing is slow and deliberate, with a high difficulty that demands careful movement and patience. It feels like a strange, solitary climb through a world that never quite explains itself.
