The strategy layer adds this frantic energy—you’re constantly switching between Fox, Falco, and the others, trying to outmaneuver enemy fleets.
The SNES is sweating bullets here, but somehow it pulls off smoother 3D dogfights and even lets your Arwing transform into a little mech for ground fights. It’s janky in that charming mid-90s way, and the fan translation means you finally get to see all the weird little cutscenes and dialogue that never made it out. Not gonna lie, some of the enemy AI feels like it’s cheating, but that just makes pulling off a last-minute planet defense even sweeter.
