Game Overview
Star Trek: 25th Anniversary on the NES is one of those weird little licensed games that somehow works. You play as Kirk, beaming down to planets with Spock and McCoy (or whoever you pick—I always went with those two) to solve problems, fight aliens, and occasionally argue with Starfleet. The ship combat feels clunky at first, but once you get the hang of phasers and photon torpedoes, it’s oddly satisfying.
It’s not perfect—some of the puzzles are vague, and the graphics are very much of their time—but if you’re into old-school point-and-click adventures with a Trek skin, it’s got charm. Just don’t expect anything close to the PC version.
