You'll be micromanaging power levels and phaser shots while enemies swarm you, and the controls feel just slightly off in a way that makes everything harder than it needs to be.
Weirdest part? Some of the changes seem totally random. Different music, some dialogue tweaks, and the away missions are even more punishing. If you're a masochist or a die-hard TNG fan, maybe give it a shot, but honestly? Stick with the Genesis version if you can. This one feels like someone cranked the "suffering" dial to 11 for no reason.
