Game Overview

Star Wars: Lethal Alliance came out for the Nintendo DS in 2006, developed by Ubisoft. It was one of those mid-2000s portable titles that tried to make real use of the dual screens and touch controls, fitting right in with the experimental vibe of the platform at the time. The game doesn't retell a major film plot; instead, it carves out its own corner of the galaxy with new characters, which felt like a small but welcome change of pace.

You control Rianna Saren, a Twi'lek mercenary, and her droid Zeeo, switching between them on the fly to handle different obstacles. Rianna handles the shooting and close combat, while Zeeo takes care of hacking doors and disabling security systems via touchscreen minigames. The main goal is to infiltrate Imperial facilities, often requiring you to coordinate their abilities to progress, like having Zeeo unlock a path so Rianna can ambush a group of stormtroopers. The pace is fairly methodical, with a focus on exploration and situational awareness rather than constant action. It's not especially difficult, but it does ask you to pay attention to enemy placements and use your tools thoughtfully. Playing it feels like working through a series of compact, interactive puzzles wrapped in a Star Wars skin.
