Play Street Fighter Alpha 3 (Quartex) (EU) Online
Pick your fighter and battle it out in intense one-on-one duels, using special moves and combos to take down your opponents in this portable showdown.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 for the Game Boy Advance came out in 2002, published by Ubi Soft. It was part of that wave of arcade-to-handheld ports that tried to squeeze big cabinet energy into a small screen. Capcom handled the development, and for a GBA title, it carried a surprising amount of the Alpha series' mechanics and roster.
You pick a fighter like Ryu or Chun-Li and face opponents in one-on-one matches across various stages. The main goal is to deplete your rival's health bar before they deplete yours. Key mechanics include the Alpha Counter, which lets you interrupt an opponent's attack with a well-timed button press, and the three different fighting styles (A-ism, V-ism, X-ism) that change how your super meter builds and functions. Matches are fast, and the AI can be challenging even on default settings. It feels responsive and surprisingly complete for a handheld adaptation, letting you pull off fireballs and dragon punches with a satisfying sense of control.
