Capcom released Street Fighter Alpha 3 for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, bringing a surprisingly complete version of the arcade fighter to a handheld. It arrived during a time when portable systems were just starting to handle complex, sprite-based action games with any real fidelity, and this was one of the more ambitious attempts.
You control a fighter from a large roster, engaging in one-on-one battles across a series of matches to become the champion. The game incorporates signature mechanics like the Alpha Counter, which lets you retaliate right out of a block, and the three-tiered ISM system (A-ISM, X-ISM, V-ISM) that drastically alters your character's move set and super combo capabilities. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be steep, especially against later CPU opponents who read your inputs. It feels responsive and deeply satisfying when your strategies and execution come together in a match.
