Chun-Li’s kicks still feel snappy on the GBA screen, and good luck not spamming fireballs when that final boss starts wrecking you. They crammed in all the fighters plus weird modes where you team up against ridiculous odds.

Game Overview

Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed and published by Capcom. It was a time when portable fighters were rare, and this one stood out for bringing a console-quality experience to a handheld. The roster was huge, including nearly every character from the Alpha series, and it even added a few new ones and some exclusive modes you couldn't find elsewhere.

You pick a fighter like Ryu or Chun-Li and battle through arcade mode, one-on-one matches where the goal is to deplete your opponent's health bar. Key mechanics include the Alpha Counter, which lets you interrupt attacks with a well-timed button press, and the Variable System, where you choose your fighting style and super combo level before each match. The pacing is fast, and the AI can be punishing, especially in later stages. It feels responsive and surprisingly complete for a handheld port, with combos and special moves that translate well to the smaller buttons.
