Stunt Race FX came out in 1994 for the Super Nintendo, developed by Nintendo and Argonaut Software. You control one of several blocky vehicles, from a sporty car to a heavy truck, racing on twisting tracks filled with jumps, loops, and obstacles. The main goal is straightforward: finish first. Key mechanics include drifting around corners by tapping the shoulder buttons and managing your limited turbo boost for straightaways. The game isn't easy; later courses demand precise control and memorization. It feels like a rough but earnest preview of what racing games would become.
