Play Super Aleste (Japan) Online
You weave through waves of enemy fire, swapping weapons on the fly—homing missiles for tricky shots, spread guns when the screen gets packed. Those pixel explosions never get old.

Game Overview
Super Aleste (or Space Megaforce if you're in the US) is one of those SNES shooters that just feels right the moment you start blasting. You're immediately thrown into this chaotic vertical scroller where enemy ships swarm in from all directions, and your little craft has to dodge through bullet hell while swapping between eight different weapon types.
What I love is how each weapon actually changes how you play—the homing missiles are great when you're overwhelmed, but the spread shot clears crowds like nothing else. First time I played, I stuck with the default gun too long before realizing how much crazier the others get when upgraded. The explosions are chunky, satisfying 16-bit fireballs, and some later levels get absolutely ridiculous with how much stuff they throw at you.
It's not the deepest shmup out there, but it's got that perfect "one more try" energy when you barely scrape through a tough section. The music's got that classic SNES synth-rock vibe too, all crunchy guitars over pixelated chaos.
