Super Baseball 2020 is one of those weird, over-the-top SNES sports games that somehow works. It’s baseball, but not as you know it—players are cyborgs, robots, and regular humans (who feel weirdly out of place), and the whole thing plays like a Saturday morning cartoon version of the sport.
The backstory is ridiculous in the best way: the league’s been rigged by a shady computer system, so the players basically hack it to make games fair again. You pick from 12 wild characters (I always go for the robot pitcher—no stamina drain), and matches are fast, chaotic, and full of power-ups. Pull off a crazy catch, and you might get a temporary speed boost or stronger hits. It’s arcadey, a little janky, and way more fun than it has any right to be.
Just don’t expect realism—this is baseball with jetpacks and laser-guided throws.
