Game Overview
Man, Super Full Metal is one of those SNES games that makes you wish time machines were real. It never actually came out, but from what little info exists, it sounds like someone took Contra, dipped it in liquid metal, and cranked the speed up to 11. The few screens floating around show these chunky, detailed sprites—think soldiers with oversized guns blasting through industrial zones, explosions everywhere.
Rumor has it the bosses took up half the screen, and knowing the SNES, they probably had some wild Mode 7 rotation gimmicks. I can almost hear the crunchy sound effects and synth-heavy soundtrack just looking at the mockups. Would it have been amazing or just another solid shooter? We’ll never know, but that mystery is half the fun for retro nerds.
