Game Overview

Super Grid Runner is that classic Amiga shooter where you're the last pilot standing against waves of slimy Xtharrgg invaders. You zip around a neon grid in your fancy Vorton Hyper X-13, blasting snake-like alien chains that break apart into deadly pods if you don't clean them up fast enough. And just when you think you've got a rhythm, those jerk rail guns on the edges start taking cheap shots at you.

Here's the weirdly satisfying bit: your ship's nosecone detaches at the start and just sits there firing upward like a turret. Shoot it, though, and it spits back triple the bullets at wild angles—kinda like poking a sleeping cat and regretting it immediately. You can reattach and reposition it, which sounds simple until you're dodging bombs and trying not to panic.

Oh, and when you die (you will), you can choose to explode early. Do it, and your next ship gets a few seconds of god mode while all the enemies turn into floating cows and llamas. Because of course they do—it's a Jeff Minter game. The whole thing's chaotic, loud, and weirdly hypnotic once you get into the zone.

It's like someone took Centipede, fed it neon, and cranked the madness up to 11.
