Game Overview
Super Ninja-kun on SNES is basically what happens when you take the classic Ninja-kun formula and crank everything up a notch. Your ninja’s girlfriend gets snatched by some demon, and now you’re sprinting through nine stages of wall-climbing, shuriken-chucking chaos to get her back.
You start with the basics—throwing stars, climbing like a spider—but pretty soon you’re grabbing bombs, boomerangs, and even collecting enemy souls to unleash special attacks. The hearts system is a nice change too; no more instant deaths from a single hit, though you’ll still want to grab extras when you can. And yeah, when you die, you just pop right back where you left off, which keeps things moving.
Best part? You can drag a friend into this mess with two-player co-op. Player two gets a color-swapped ninja, so at least you’ll know who to blame when things go wrong. Boss fights at the end of each stage keep you on your toes, and some of them are seriously sneaky. It’s classic action-platforming with just enough new tricks to feel fresh.
