Super Ninja-kun came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed by Jaleco. It was one of those mid-lifecycle SNES games that didn't get a ton of attention but had its own quirky charm. You play as a ninja on a rescue mission, moving through a series of themed stages that scroll both horizontally and vertically.

You control the ninja protagonist, jumping between platforms and attacking enemies with your default shurikens. The main goal is to fight through each stage to defeat the boss and save your kidnapped girlfriend. A couple of the game's mechanics include collecting power-ups that change your weapon, like fireballs or homing shots, and a two-player co-op mode where a friend can join as a second ninja. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly in later levels. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes chaotic action platformer from that era.
