Super Pang came out for the Super Nintendo in 1992, developed and published by Capcom. It was part of that early wave of SNES games that took simple arcade concepts and sharpened them for home play, focusing on pure mechanics over sprawling worlds.
You control a character armed with a harpoon gun, moving left and right to pop bouncing balls that fill the screen. Your goal is to clear each stage by destroying every ball, which split into smaller, faster versions when hit. The game progresses screen by screen, with each new level introducing different ball patterns and environmental hazards. The pacing is relentless; one mistake often leads to a quick chain reaction of failures, especially in two-player mode where you and a partner can easily trap or corner each other. It feels like a tense, chaotic dance where every shot and dodge matters.
