Super Puyo Puyo Tsuu—or Puyo Puyo 2 if you're not playing the Japanese version—is that perfect mix of cute and cutthroat. You're dropping these squishy colored blobs, trying to match four of the same color while secretly setting up ridiculous chain reactions that'll bury your opponent under garbage blocks. The AI here actually fights back, too—none of that pushover stuff from the first game.

What makes this one special is the offsetting mechanic. When your screen starts filling with junk from your opponent's combos, you can actually cancel some of it out if you're quick enough. First time I pulled that off, it felt like cheating (in the best way). The characters all have this weird charm too, yelling nonsense and making faces while you're desperately trying to plan three moves ahead.

Still holds up as the best version of Puyo Puyo if you ask me. Just don't blame me when you start seeing colored blobs in your sleep.
